Six years ago, the Nightrunner Pack transferred leadership. Xavier Knight ascended to Alpha in the blood of the previous one. He immediately began to weed out the weak and turn the pack into a heartless army.
His law against the weakest made for executions.
A small amount of the pack experienced a condition called Latency, they did not develop wolves and many did not even develop the senses. These were to be executed immediately under the charge of weakening blood.
Sarafina Roe had been a runt of her family. The youngest of the family, her height had been stunted and no wolf had come to her.
The average wolf shifter received their wolves between a few years and thirteen. Sarafina’s wolf had never come.
At the age of sixteen, when the law came down, her mother managed to drive her to Aspen, Colorado. Once there, she bought her a Grey Hound bus ticket, gave her the Roe family savings, and kissed her cub good-by.
When Sophia Roe got home, she got killed by the men of her family for theft…and kidnapping.
Over the six years to follow…
Sarafina grew up. She aged from sixteen to the age of twenty-two.
The bus ticket took her to Odessa, TX. For a year, she worked an odd job or two. from there, she gradually headed east.
Midland…
Big Spring…
She continued East on I-20 every six months to a year.
Her crimson red hair had grown down her back, some wave fell out to became straight. Her face had lost all the child look fully and her cobalt eyes became her most alluring feature. Despite remaining at five feet and three inches in height, she slimmed up and took on a mare athletic appearance.
Finally, she settled in a small town located on the Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana border…the town of Arlosslip on the west bank of the Mississippi River.
It happened to be a hidden little forestry type town off of Highway 65, on an old side road since unmarked. There seemed to be just two gas stations, a police station, a few stores, a bar, and a lodge. The rest lived in the woods around Arlosslip.
Sarafina had gotten a room at the lodge…the Swamp Rat Lodge room 3-B. She paid the monthly rent and went to work at the Tooth and Scale Bar.
Late in the evening, in the fall…
The Tooth and Scale Bar had been jumping since the sun went down. There had to be thirty or so customers drinking for a staff of nine.
Among the waitresses, moved Sarafina.
At the age of twenty-two, she looked good. Her red hair hung in a high pony tail. She wore a blue halter that made her boobs a highlight. Her tits size had filled out to a 38-B. Her mid-drift appeared visible, an over shirt normally looked to be blue and purple plaid. She had her arms in the button-down shirt, but the rest had been tied up to keep her tummy visible. Sarafina also wore daisy dukes in stone washed and knee high boots for footwear.
The bar sat in the middle of the room with ten stools. A kitchen sat behind it. To the left sat dart boards and tables.
To the right resided pool tables with facilities between the kitchen and pool table. A large jukebox played too.
As she weaved between patrons, Sarafina stayed all smiles. An occasional flirt drifted her way and she would do so back for bigger tips.
On a moment at the bar, she picked up drinks along with another girl named Tabitha.
“Tonight is hopping”, Tabitha told her, “All we need is some super hot men for closing time and we good.”
Sarafina rolled her eyes, “I swear, you are such a horn dog, Tabby.”
“Oh come on. You know you want it too. There is nothing like a big dick on these chilly nights.”
Sarafina face palmed. Being raised wolf, despite the lack of one, she still couldn’t get over the free sexuality of some humans. Being wolf less and trying to keep her head down, she just wasn’t sure how to answer the girl.
A chime went off and the bouncers took a look.
Three new comers had ventured in from the humid night.
Tabitha’s eyes went that way as Sarafina glimpsed. “Oh my gawd, three hot devils just walked in.”
The red head pursed her lips and looked away. Not Good.
The three men made their way to a table and had a seat. Of the three men, Sarafina recognized one of them right off the bat.
Sid Roe happened to be an auburn haired male with green eyes. He had grown in the six years to six feet and four inches and bulked up. He wore jeans, a red Hanes pocket tee, and combat boots. This man happened to be Sarafina’s big brother.
That meant that the other two had to also be Nightrunner Pack members.
I’m in trouble if they recognize me.
Sarafina collected the beers that she came for and headed to the pool tables…opposite from the three that came in.
